The default program default.r

When a new program is created, the contents of the file default.r are loaded to form its basis.

default.r is located in the directory $SCULPTOR/default/logname, where logname is the contents of the environment variable LOGNAME. If there is no LOGNAME variable defined, then the directory used is $SCULPTOR/default, and the file is common to all users who have no LOGNAME defined.

The default.r program supplied by Sculptor contains code to create the task window wintask, and functions that enable the user to close it and exit from the program. This is basically the minimum possible amount of code that allows the program to be compiled and run without being edited. The contents of default.r can be changed; it is a standard text file and can be amended with any text editor, or by the program designer itself. It is not essential that it contain a window definition.

The language configuration file spd.eng

All text output by the program designer is configurable, with the exceptions of the Sculptor Copyright message, and words which are a part of the Sculptor language. Language and command configuration is achieved by means of the utility sctextw. This utility is for the purpose of editing configurable text files, which are located in the directory $SCULPTOR/text. The default English language configurable text file for the program designer is called spd.eng. This file may be edited using sctextw. The text file extension in use is determined by the environment variable SCTEXT. This defaults to .eng (English).
