Menu item hotkeys¶
An item or subitem may be selected by pressing the item’s hotkey - one of the characters that make up its label. The hotkey character is displayed with an underline. Hotkeys are optional, and are defined in the label = clause.
Pressing the ALT key toggles the underlining of hotkey characters on and off.
In the main menu bar, pressing ALT plus the hotkey character causes the item to gain focus immediately, and selects it. If a submenu is open, simply pressing a subitem hotkey selects it (the ALT key is still used to select main menu items). Note that in submenus the default hotkey is the first character of the item’s label. There is no default hotkey for main menu items.
If more than one item on a menu or submenu has the same hotkey, activating the hotkey moves focus to each such item in turn (without selecting it).
Hotkeys are not case dependent.
