File Manager - Configure

This option opens the File Manager configuration window. Configuration for each user is stored in the directory $SCULPTOR\default\username.

The configurable items are:

General

Default directory

The default directory is selected and displayed as the current directory when the program loads. Specification of a default directory is optional. If this field is blank, the first directory from which a file is selected is temporarily assigned as the default directory. The default is not saved for future sessions unless the Configure window is opened and the OK button pressed to save the current settings.

The current directory may be saved as the default directory at any time by use of the Directory->Set current directory as default menu option.

Default integrity check level

The default integrity level for the Keyed file->Check option. The higher the level, the more comprehensive the check, and the longer it takes to perform. The default level is initially set to 2.

Turn transaction logging off

Determines whether transaction logging should be turned off by default. If it is on, certain keyed file operations update the transaction log file if it is present in the directory $SCULPTOR/recover. The default can always be overridden.

Directory copying

The items on this page correspond to those on the Copy a Directory window, and are described in detail in the section on that topic. Note that the current settings in that window can be saved as the defaults by means of the Save settings button.

The buttons on the configuration window have the following effects:

Cancel

Close the window, cancelling any changes that have been made since it was opened.

OK

Save the current configuration and close the window.
