spd - Layout menu¶
Align¶
Aligns the secondary selected items with the primary selected item, either horizontally or vertically, as follows:
Left |
Align left edges vertically |
Horiz. Centre |
Align centres vertically |
Right |
Align right edges vertically |
Top |
Align top edges horizontally |
Vert. Centre |
Align centres horizontally |
Bottom |
Align bottom edges horizontally |
The position of the primary selected item always remains unchanged; the others are moved to match it.
If a character grid is being used, perfect alignment cannot always be guaranteed at the right, bottom and centre. However, alignment at the top and left is perfect, with the possible exception of graphics that are aligned to the centre of the character grid cell.
Once the items are correctly aligned, the Space evenly option is available for further enhancement of their positioning.
Space evenly¶
Space the selected items evenly, either across or down the parent window. Three or more items must be selected. They will normally be positioned in a row across the screen or in a column down it.
Across |
The items positioned furthest to the left and right are unchanged, and the remaining items are spaced evenly between them. |
Down |
The top and bottom items are unchanged, and the remaining items are spaced evenly between them. |
This option is only available if a pixel grid is being used.
To align the items precisely in their column or row, use the Align option.
Make same size¶
Make the secondary selected items the same size as the primary selected item. The width or height can be resized alone, or both can be resized together. Identical sizing may not be possible with different control types, or with controls using different fonts.
Centre in window¶
Centre the selected item or items in the parent window. Items can be centred vertically, horizontally or both. If the selected item is a top level window, it is centred within the desktop.
